70% Cabernet Sauvignon 30% Merlot. The perfect example of what Will and I were searching for. This Chateau highlights the peculiarities of the appellation strictures and the immense enjoyment when one discovers a gem outside the system. The estate is actually part of the vineyards of a renowned Margaux estate, but the vines are just outside the strictly drawn line.
Intense black fruits on the nose and a delightful combination of full frontal flavours with the lovely understated "Bordeaux elegance". A great vintage drinking wonderfully now!
Arguably our favourite cru classé wine of the past 40 years. Pure blackcurrants with a lengthy, robust, ethereal finish. The 2009 is a grape growers dream and drinking beautifully early.
Delightfully soft, zingy flavours.
Soft, rounded and supple with a vibrant Merlot finish. A "classic lunchtime Claret" from the north bank of the Dordogne.
A gentle plum nose leads to big meaty Merlot flavours on the palate. 40% Cabernet Sauvignon brings cassis and black fruits to the party. A wine with pedigree at a modest price!
A lovely herbaceous nose followed by marvellous Sauvignon Blanc content with flamboyant gooseberries and asparagus, fleshed out with the breadth and depth of Semillon.
